It seems as though the trains are full up all day tomorrow (22nd August), so I guess the bus is my next best option.

Unless anyone else wants to share a taxi, leaving Bayonne at around 2pm?

John, it's unlikely these trains are sold out in advance because it isn't possible to pre-book seats. Not sure where you have been looking (possibly some third-party sites cut off sales 24 hours in advance), but tickets can still be purchased from the official SNCF site at https://en.oui.sncf/en/ - or just buy when you get to the station. That's what most people do.

You're almost there! Buen Camino!

Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.

If I haven’t skipped a day, this is 22nd. Have a great camino! And keep us posted from time to time.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

I have been doing this for 4 years now and not once have I been able to take the train...… because of the track needing work on it!! but the bus goes from the rail station and you can get a ticket from the train office Buen Camino

As another poster wrote yesterday was a strike and he had to wait 4 hours for replacement bus. Maybe that's why it is showing that the trains are full/not available?

Yeah but, the strikes usually only last for a day. So the replacement bus was the SNCF trying to satisfy customers with their own drivers on strike and using a scab drivers from another company. I know lots of my friends are upset, but it is not affecting them directly.

It was easy as pie. I left Biarritz at 1030, arrived in Bayonne minutes later, enjoyed four hours there and then jumped on the shuttle train up to SJPP in an hour.

Total cost - under 13 euros.

Lovely.

That's great to hear, John! Glad the train was running and you arrived safely in St Jean. Have a wonderful Camino!
