Assistance with luggage transport

Camino Frances 2023
I’m hoping someone can help out here. I’ve been a bit ill on the way ( and many thanks to various pilgrims who assisted me when I was faltering). I’ve just spent a couple of days in Pamplona recovering and while better I don’t think I’m up to going more than 10k or so per day for a couple of days, especially with a full load on my back. That halfway point seems to be Zariquiegui, and there seems to be an albergue there. I’ll contact them and see if I can book in. But I simply can’t carry my full load at this stage so want to put much of it in a bag and send it ahead. Problem is that the only accommodation I could get on short notice is a pension that does not have reception (it’s on the fifth floor) so a courier can’t pick up from here. I’m on Avenida Pio XII, 32, about 2 k from the city. Noting that the bag needs to be ready somewhere at 8am for pickup, can anyone suggest options?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
If you can get a reservation in Zariquigui you could arrange to have it delivered by taxi before you set out. More expensive of course, but as I understand it taxis were the original bag transport before the advent of transfer companies. I've done this in a pinch with my husband's bag when transport was not available.

From Zariquigui you can switch to one of the transport companies going forward.

Yes, that was my thinking too. Seems the simplest solution if not the cheapest. Still, I’ve saved an awful lot of money on food the past five days!

You might call or email Caminofacil and ask if they have a place in Zariquigui where they drop bags. They often do have a place that will accept them and hold them. They may even have a key to the albergue you're talking about without reception. They often do.

it’s the pension that I’m in tonight in Pamplona that doesn’t have a reception. I’m probably going the taxi option but thanks for your response

Then you could find out if there's an alternate spot where you can leave your bag. That would probably be the easiest.

Prepare for your next Camino on California's Santa Catalina Island, Oct 27 to Nov 2
I recommend the place I stayed at last October:
Casa Maralotx Albergue Cirauqui

EDIT: Yikes! Sorry... Cirauqui is too far from Pamplona!! I thought that "Zariquigui" was a different spelling of the same place but they're two different towns. Perhaps you might stay at Maralotx the next night--they served one of my favorite communal dinners.

Buen Camino!!!
