I’m looking into walking from Amsterdam to Rouen to Caen to Mont Saint Michel in 2024. Looks like I can piece together some GR routes. Wondering if anyone else has walked this way?

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Nice one !!

Only thing off the top of my head is that the normal route for it would be Amsterdam > Paris ; basically on the Camino from Amsterdam.

Then follow the Seine to Rouen -- this is a highly traditional pilgrimage route, with multiple GR options.

The major alternative would be to follow that Amsterdam route until Saint-Quentin, from there > Péronne, then down the Somme to Amiens, then follow the Chemin d'Amiens to Rouen.

From Rouen there's a complex network of routes, but I'd suggest make some sort of way to Honfleur where the Seine reaches the sea, then > Trouville-sur-Mer > Dives-sur-Mer > Caen.

From there the Chemin de Caen, but switch over to Vires ; from there, to Avranches, then the end of the Paris to Mont-Saint-Michel route.

Or, avoid Rouen and Caen, and Amsterdam > Paris then Paris > Mont-Saint-Michel on the GR1, which goes further South via Triel-sur-Seine and Alençon. Your prospective route sounds better though ...

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.
Walked Caen to MSM - beautiful, but sporadically marked and very little pilgrim support.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Hello, wondering if anyone knows how to get a pilgrim credential quickly! I live in the US. I leave next week to start a walk from Amsterdam to Mont Saint Michel and completely forgot to order one!
Possibly there is a pilgrim office in Amsterdam?

Where are you in the US?

Doubt you could get a Miquelot credential

But a Santiago one probably- but you may get a better response if you start a new thread with just the question about the credential

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

Perhaps a forum member from Amsterdam sees your question and can reply. Or you could contact @Ianinam and @LTfit. Be aware that this is not exactly Saint James & Camino country ...

On the webpage of the national Dutch Camino Association with headquarters in Utrecht I see for the Amsterdam region that they meet on the last Thursday of each month in café Batavia-1920, Prins Hendrikkade 85, opposite of the Central Station in Amsterdam and you can buy a credential there and even get a Camino stamp. I don't see a phone number but I am sure that the regional Amsterdam section has one. Buen Camino!

You can buy a credential in the 'Huis van Sint Jacob' (House of Saint James) in Utrecht, address Janskerkhof 28A. They are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1.30 pm till 3.30 pm, and every 2nd and 4th Saturday from 11 am till 3 pm. The volunteers there can also give you lots of information and maps about your initerary.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
