Walked Sarria to Santiago Easter 2014
Hope to walk for 5 days from St Jean Pied De Port to wherever my feet bring me to first week of June 2016
Hi I'm doing the Camino in April, flying into Santiago on Saturday the 12th arriving there about 15:35, I'm wondering whats the best way to get to Sarria, I was previously told by a friend who travelled before that I can get a bus outside airport to Lugo and Lugo to Sarria, however I've seen comments that buses dont run on a Saturday? My other query is I will probably arrive in Sarria late enough, will i still get a bed if its 9 or after by the time I arrive?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
That bus info is correct. To lugo then lugo to sarria. Sorry I don't know about days they run. I just think it would be odd to not run in a Saturday. You may be pushing it in the time for an albergue. Maybe book a hotel for that first night in sarria if you expect an arrival at 9pm or later.

Hi

The Timetables for the Airport to Sarria route can be found at - use the drop down box to select aeroporte de Lavacolla

This says there are two buses on a Saturday evening after your flight lands that go to Lugo (the days of the week- S is for Sabado = Saturday)

Then look at http://horarios.monbus.es/
Type in for parada de origen - Lugo and select the Lugo estacion option, fill in the parada de destino with your destination -Sarria. Click on 'ida' which is a single one way journey. Then add you date in box for 'ida'.

So you should be able to get to Sarria that evening.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
I would also reccomend booking a hotel, it will be late enough when you get in, at least 10.00 pm. dp Cristal is a good two star hotel right on the Camino, nice staff and good food. In the morning you come out the front door turn left and left again and you are on the way. There are rooms available on your dates from €33 for a single on Booking.Com. I have stayed here twice and found it good.
Buen Camino.

Does staying in a hotel effect my getting the certificate at the end of the journey? Thank ye all for advice. Pity flights were not earlier.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
As falcon says No, it does not. Every hotel, cafe, bar, hostal and albergue have their own stamps. Collect a minimum of two each day from Sarria to get your compostela, collect as many as you can as they are a great reminder of your trip.

Hello! I’ve been browsing the forum and there’s plenty of info for baggage transfers from stage to stage, where you pick it up daily, give it back and move on, however what I’m after is a service...
