And of course airbnb is always worth trying :)

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Madrid is a big city with every type and price of accommodation. If you would tell us your budget range and preferred type of accommodation, it would be easier to make a recommendation. I use booking.com to find a room in a hostal somewhere within walking distance of Atocha station and the Prado. For example, Hostal Bruna or Hostal Astoria, around 50 Euros per night.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

The Mola! 20 min walk to the Atocha station has both hostal type room as well as private rooms. Great location for a multiday visit in Madrid. Bookable thru Booking.com

We stayed at the Axor Feria near the airport on both ends of our trip. Nice enough and fairly reasonable for an airport hotel.

Hi @Malcolm C
Glad you're sorted. So much to choose from near the main train station, Atocha.

Just for others searching threads., if you have time after your experience in Madrid., maybe you could advise what you found. (name and price etc) and your opinion after your experience.

Buen Camino
