Any forum members who might be planning to start or end their Camino with a stay in Barcelona might be interested in accommodation offered by 'University Rooms'. For women only there is centrally located Residencia Universitaria Talitha which offers single and twin room at low prices. Being student accommodation no ensuite but shared bathrooms but also cooking facilities and patio etc. Good reviews from those who have stayed. as an older peregrino I can't cope with party hostels and Barcelona is a party town. A single costs £26.61/$37.91 or 35 Euros per night But the drawback for some peregrinos is that a minimum booking of 3 nights is required. twin rooms + £31.17/ $44.40/ 41 Euros. The site also offers rooms for both sexes but dates are limited during term time. Worth looking at what they offer in other European cities for those pilgrims who are extending their travels. certainly their rooms in London near St Pancras International are a real bargain for Central London and include breakfast, cooked English or continental.

The Hyeronymite nouns of Barcelona have a casal next to their monastery that might be an option to consider for those looking for silence (mandatory as well as to respect the silence of the rest of the people of the casal) and spirituality (i.e.: not for tourist but for -spiritual- seekers) although I don't know if they accept just women or, if being next to the monastery but not in the monastery, they accept men too. Anyway, for more info and contact details: http://jeronimes.cat/es/el-casal-bellesguard

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.
