  1. Stamping in Oviedo's Cathedral on a Saturday

Hello there! I will be starting the Camino Primitivo on July 2nd (Sunday), arriving to Oviedo on the previous day, by bus, around 4:30pm. As I would like that the first stamp on my credencial is the Cathedral's, do you happen to know if I can get a stamp there Saturday around 5:00pm or Sunday...

  7. Digital Compostela: Save Trees and Clutter

Realizing that many do not wish to collect a Compostela upon arrival in Santiago… I personally love getting the Compostela. In the spirit of (to paraphrase an ancient Roman saying), “I came, I walked, I got one”. I am running out of wall space. Must confess once I retired, I removed all my...
  8. How do I register for a Compostela? (Pre-registration link)

@Kathar1na posted this link on another thread about pre-registering for a Compostela, but I thought that it warrants the attention of a new thread. The translation into other languages has been greatly improved in this new version. https://oficinadelperegrino.com/registro-individual/
  9. Horseback Riding and Walking the Camino: Qualifying for Compostela

I understand that if you ride the Camino on horseback you can get the Compostela if you complete the last 100km, just like walking. I recently learned that a stable offers one day rides from Sarria to Portomarin, which I would like to do. Does anyone know whether I would still qualify for the...

You're traveling any of the Camino routes. You have only three or four days until you arrive in Santiago de Compostela, but your credincial is full.
  11. How many sellos per day

I will be walking the French Way from Burgos this September. I ordered my credential from Ivar and on too of each page it says that 2 sellos per day are required to receive a Compostela. I've heard, also on this forum that one sello is fine, 2 are required only between Sarria and Santiago. How...

To Compostela or not to Compostela

Hello all! So I arrived in Santiago today (later in the day, per usual for me) and I’m very relieved to be finished! I’ll walk the final km from my accommodation to the Cathedral first thing tomorrow morning. It has been a challenging journey for me, almost every day…of course much to be enjoyed...

Starting Point Question for registering for Compostela

On the website it asks your starting point. We started in St Jean, however for various reasons, had to skip a stage here and there but will be walking Sarria to Santiago. Do I put St Jean as my starting point or should I put Sarria? Thank you!
  14. Has anyone started the Ingles route in your own country?

Hi there! I am doing some research because I want to walk the Ingles route in July. I just read in brierleys guide that its possible to walk 25km in your own country, then walk from A Coruña to Santiago and then get a compostela. Has anyone done this? Im scared the pilgrims office won't give...

    Requirement for Compostela certificate

Do pilgrims have to walk the last 100km immediately before Santiago, or at least 100km somewhere on the Camino to get a certificate? I will be walking several hundred Kilometers along Frances but being my 2nd Camino may not walk from Sarria if it is too busy. Unsure if I can still get a...

Pilgrim's office in Santiago - do I really need to pre-register?

Hi, planning to finish CF on 24 May. I don't want a Compostela, just a last stamp on my Credencial. From checking the website I don't understand if I NEED to pre-register online or if it will just be easier if I do. Many thanks for any help anyone can provide. Buen Camino

The most beautiful stamp : Caldas de Reis

I just happened upon staying at this albergue in Caldas de Reis that has the most beautiful stamp. They only issue the stamp for those staying at the Albergue Albor. I’ve never seen anything so touching. It is fresh flowers sealed in wax.
  19. Do you really need to visit the Pilgrim Office in SJPdP?

There have been many photos posted recently of a long queue of people waiting to get into the Pilgrim Office run by Les Amis Du Chemin De Saint Jacques in Saint Jean Pied de Port. I read that at this office they will provide a credencial, place the first stamp in it, and provide tips and...
