although my symptoms of vertigo (viral cause) are a lot less than several years back, it can be a challenge. Hoka Alternatives with Similar Padding and heel-to-toe Drop?

I have foot challenges as well and Hoka has been my ‘go-to’ for over 4 years. I have accepted that they a short life span ( approx 500km) - less on hard surfaces- asphalt, concrete, cobble & more on trail surfaces. I’ve concluded the comfort outweighs purchasing 2-3 pairs per year.

    Packing cubes or dry bags

Dry bags keep the dry in and the moisture and bugs out. They are great to take your stuff to the shower and stay dry. They make a great’purse’ in a pinch. You can strap them in the outside your pack and know your stuff is protected. They act as compression bags. I use the utra light...

Packing List : T shirts : Merino wool or synthetic quick dry ?

It really depends how long you will be walking. Merino can be worn for several days without washing. Some synthetic clothes tend to ‘bake in’ the smell after a while even with frequent washing. Pee Cloth - leave no trace

Although there are many ways to manage that task during our Camino days, I have used them on a few caminos and they are a great idea. They are hygienic( silver ions in cloth), convenient and less expensive to buy on Amazon than the brand names.

Talon 33 vs Tempest 34.... help me decide, please

Some folks view the Talon 33 as a ‘man’s pack’ but fit, feel, weight and pockets are my way of determining whether it works For me. I’ve used the older version Talon 33 for a few Caminos and found it great. It is a basic so no fancy bells & whistles but this keeps the weight down. The pockets...

    Gossamer Gear backpack options

Last fall, I used the Kumo 36 (20oz) for the Norte & Ingles. I have used an Osprey Talon 33(under 2 lbs) on previous caminos- also a good pack but slightly heavier I used several ultralight dry bags to separate my gear inside. Since there is no internal frame, I relied on these stuffed dry bags...
