According to the airport's website, there is only taxi service directly to and from the airport. https://www.aena.es/en/pamplona.html.
But if you don't want to take a taxi, you can walk approximately one kilometer from the airport and pick up local bus L16, which will take you directly to the...
We stayed at the Hostal Monaco in 2012. Basic '60's style hotel. Clean, comfortable, right in the center of things. Passed through Los Arcos again last spring, Didn't stay there, but it looked fine, and downstairs restaurant was lively with locals. Here's their web site...
To inject some objective measurements into the conversation, my favorite mapping app (mapy.cz) shows that the Camino from Vigo to SDC is exactly 100 kilometers, with total ascent of 1493 meters and total decent of 1281 meters. From Sarria to SDC is 114 k, with total ascent of 2009 meters and...
Unfortunately, it looks like this poster just wanted to vent, and was not really seeking information or advice. She posted this thread at 11:32 PM yesterday, and has not been seen on the Forum since 11:37 PM, before even the first response was posted. She had a grievance -- probably misplaced...
That's an impossible question to answer. Nobody can tell you how long YOU will need. Brierley breaks it into 33 stages, as you note. So, too, does gronze.com. But neither Brierley or Gronze knows YOUR capabilities, and their divisions are pretty arbitrary, corresponding only to the more...
I've been through all or part of the last section three times now, and I've become more tolerant, as I've realized it's not just my Camino. It's everyone's, even the more rowdy people. The last time through, after joining up at the end of the Norte, I even enjoyed the infectious energy the...
I don't know whether you can get day to day statistics, but the pilgrim's office in St. Jean Pied de Port publishes the number of pilgrims who register at the office there. But, as far as I know, these statistics are only broken down by months...

The official statistics do not back up the argument that traffic on the Frances has increased. In fact, if we subtract out the very busy (and increasingly busy) Sarria - Santiago section, numbers on the Frances have steadily DECREASED every year since 2015, and are now almost exactly where...
An absolutely fine plan! Here's a couple of tweaks: From Paris take the train to Bayonne, which is one stop before Biarritz (they're twin cities, and border one another). From Bayonne, you can take the local train to St. Jean, saving you an expensive taxi ride. Of course, if you want to...
Hi Natalie: Best thing is for your mother to go from Biarritz to Pamplona and meet her there. There are actually quite a few buses directly from the Biarritz Airport to Pamplona on September 24, leaving as late as 7:35 PM. The bus company is Alsa. You can check the schedule on their web...
You can make this easy on yourself. From St. Jean, Express Bourricot can ship your bag directly to Burguete, Check out their website. https://www.expressbourricot.com/luggage-transport/
Add all the heavy stuff from your backpack to the bag you’re shipping, and then you’ll have an easy walk...
Easiest thing is probably to just send your bag stage to stage until you reach a town with a Correos. In the worst case scenario, you’d have to ship it stage to stage to Pamplona (a big city), which is 2 stages beyond Roncesvalles.
Or, of course, you could just taxi from Roncesvalles to...
If you’re going to be in Spain before you head to SJPDP, there’s an easy solution. You can mail a suitcase or a pack or anything you want from one post office to another with Correos, the Spanish postal service, which is set up to deal with Pilgrims’ needs on the Caminos. Correos will hold...
In addition to the suggestions above, Brierley’s guides will have a “+” sign following the name of the albergue to indicate that they have private rooms. Also, the descriptions of the albergues in the Wise Pilgrim generally mention whether they have private rooms.
Did you check the Alsa web site? There’s a couple of buses that will get you in late afternoon. For example, there’s a direct bus that leaves Bilbao at 4:00 PM and gets in a 5:45PM. That gives you plenty of time to get settled, get dinner, and get a good night’s sleep...
Lots of buses from Logrono to Pamplona. The bus company is LaEstellesa. www.laestella.com. At Pamplona switch to a bus to St. Jean on either conda or alsa. There are only 2 or 3 a day. Schedules for that far in advance aren’t out yet. Check over the summer. Can’t help you with the...
