    Camino del Sureste

Rireana...I was hoping you would say that! We'll be heading to Lisbon later this year for the CP, but following that pilgrimage we'll start active planning for the Sureste pilgrimage out of Alicante...in Sep '25. I'd really like to have you 'on call' to bounce things off as plans start to gel...

    Camino del Sureste

Thank you Rireana! Valuable intel indeed as it gives me a planning option. I'm just starting my research for the del Sureste, and from watching the few YouTube videos on this route (and few net-based resources) it seems Petrola is the clear end point of a 23km stage, but with quite limited...

    Camino del Sureste

Thank you! Will be very helpful with the planning. Cheers.

    Camino del Sureste

Bad Pilgrim...my bad...and apologies. You know I looked at that list this afternoon and, for the life of me, couldn't see it. Happy to report...we have the SAME list! Your additional info is valuable too. We plan to walk in late September '25 and, hopefully, link into the Frances at Astorga by...

    Camino del Sureste

Bad Pilgrim - on the Sureste, Petrola looks like a difficult stop for the night (and seemingly a challenge to stage past unless you're up for a 40+ Klm day). I've looked at the Albergue Listing from the Association, but nothing penned for Petrola. I've also noted a 'seasoned' You Tube pilgrim...

    Camino del Sureste

Yep...this Camino may just necessitate a bit more of the 'winging it' apporach - which is quite opposed to my usual planned tack. Maybe its the path we really need to walk (?) Thank you so much for the good advice.

    Camino del Sureste

Brilliant information...thank you! Cebreros and San Bartolome de Pinares are likely too close to Avila to get a 'guernsey'. Likewise Gotarrendura, but we'll certainly take our time here visiting St Teresa's birth place (having had good intentions to visit her burial site [Alba de Tormes] when...

    Camino del Sureste

Thanks Bad Pilgrim. Rest days for us are generally quiet affairs. I'm thinking if a town has a couple of bars/restaurants then it comes into play. We'll look forward to visiting Escalona.

    Camino del Sureste

A question based, unfortunately, on my complete ignorance of this particular Camino route and area of Spain. So...apart from what I suspect are the obvious 'rest day' venues on the Sureste (Toledo and Avila) - where else would a tired pilgrim take a day's pause? While most of the route is a...

    Albergues On Camino Sureste/levante

Oh ok..I understand. I'll head to their web site. Thanks for the guidance!

    Albergues On Camino Sureste/levante

Thank you ranthr. I'll ping them again and see how it goes. Appreciate your response!

    Albergues On Camino Sureste/levante

Ranthr...thank you for this infomation..very useful. Did you wait until you visited Alicante to pick up your guidebook from the Association, or purchase in advance. I did send an email to the Association a few weeks ago inquiring whether I could purchase a guidebook. To date...no response...

    Albergues along the Sureste

Ray - did you end up just using the liner? Buen Camino, Kev

Private Accommodation on the Camino del Sureste

Mike...this is brilliant...thank you! I was going to ask today if anyone could recommend a Blog from someone that had worked this route. Really appreciated that you posted the link. I'll see if I can find the entry point for your writings through blogspot. Thanks again!!

Private Accommodation on the Camino del Sureste

I'm interested to hear from pilgrims who have walked the Camino del Sureste and chose to stay in private (non-albergue) accommodations. It looks like it's a real challenge right from the 'get go' out of Alicante, but those that have walked the route might (I'm hopeful) have a different...

    Looking for guidebook

Hi Camiinogoat! I had a look at Wikiloc yesterday. Looks promising in terms of Del Sureste. My only question is whether those that 'walked the walk' were on the 'official' Camino route? In essence, I suppose it doesn't really matter as long as the GPS track takes you to the town you're heading for.

    Looking for guidebook

Hi Old Hillwalker - just starting to look at this route myself. Given there's not too much information out there I had a look at SantiagoWays (https://santiagoways.com/en/camino-sureste-alicante-santiago) and sort of got a good appreciation of the walking stages (which is primarily what I was...
