Looking to share a taxi from Pamplona to SJPdP on Thursday, May 23, 2024

You have set a huge task from Pamplona to Roncesvalles the same day. Have you evaluated the terrain. I would read about this a bit more. Taking it easy over the Pyranees can save you a lot of physical issues in the early period of your trip. Check out forum posts and YouTubers advice about...

    Camino Frances 2024 Biker/Walker Accident

The cyclist who hit me had on a Camino shirt but this does not guarantee he was biking the Camino. Perhaps he was local but there is no way of knowing.

    New to the Camino

Everybody works together and you will see it flows. Take a deep breath and enjoy the ride. Ask questions of anyone and you will get help once you are en route.

Phoenix Arizona person doing Frances starting Aug 28 2024

Take the bus in Pamplona to St Jean. It is cheap and very nice. Get your ticket ahead of travel day. Bus goes one a day and can be full without advance ticket purchase.

I was celebrating my 85th on the Camino until a biker knocked me down on the trail and I had to return to US for treatment. Good luck. It is fabulous. You will make a LOT of new friends. No need to go with anybody at all.

    Camino Frances 2024 Biker/Walker Accident

We all know there are a lot of bikers on the shared Camino path. I was knocked over in the town of Villatuerta and had to return immediately to the US for treatment after destroying my Camino on May 6. I would like to urge all bikers to get bells or speak loudly when approaching walkers...

    Refillable Toothpaste Tubes

Just reuse the original tube. Squeeze from original larger tube into the small one you bought. Is used one tube on the entire Appalachain Trail. You don't need to buy a special tube.

Best Blister Prevention Method - Vote!

I have been hiking all my life. When I did a solo hike on the Appalachian Trail, I used duct tape instantly when I had a hot spot. I did not have one blister in over 2,000 miles.

    Petty theft

I am having second thoughts about doing the Camino. This is not the way I am used to doing trips. Used to wilderness hikes where people don't steal anything. Not a very joyous thought to be worrying about your possessions every minute of the day and night.
