Any Restaurant Recommendations in Muxia, Lires and Fisterra ++

I just ate twice at Taberna do Carrexo in Fisterra. Others also showed up two days in a row 🙂 The place two doors down closer to the bus station, had an amazing fish soup, however the waiter charged me an extra $2 for bread and a box and I never asked for the bread. No big deal, just a little...

Bus from Finisterre to Muxia on a Saturday

Ah ha. One cannot order online, at least I couldn't, unlike between the coast and Santiago. I could, however, purchase a ticket in person when a small booth in Finisterre opened 🙂

Bus from Finisterre to Muxia on a Saturday

I'm looking for a bus for this Saturday from Finisterre to Muxia and monbus doesn't appear to be running that day. Has anyone taken a bus on a Saturday from Finisterre to Muxia? Am I missing something? Thank you.

    Extra time

I'll be in Santiago until the 11th and then I plan to be back in Santiago on the 17th. My flight is out of Madrid. I'm thinking about spending a few nights in Finesterre and then a few nights in Muxia. I don't want to walk them right now because it's gotten cold and more rainy and I'm not even...

    Extra time

This is my first time in spain. It seems that I will be arriving in Santiago with several days, almost a week, to spare before you touch my plane home. If you were in my shoes where would you spend those five or so days?

    Peregrino supply store in Portomarin?

I am in real need of some warmer clothes and expect to be in Portomarin tomorrow afternoon. Any recommendations or ideas of where one might find quick drying long sleeved shirts?

Phone services - which is best

I'm on the Camino currently and got an orange SIM card. I'm unable to text, phone calls seem to sometimes work, and usually Wi-Fi is available. With that said I'm currently in Fonfria, and I have to use the Wi-Fi here because my orange Sim is not getting service.

    Leaving Molinaseca

Wow! I ended up on the shorter route, all paved.... Body aches and hips hurt. No idea if 3 extra km possibly would have been better. Either way, I'm hear now. Gracias!

LIVE from the Camino Small towns to stay in?

any suggestions for small towns or places with private rooms to stay between Ponferrada and Santiago? I am finding that Leon and Astorga and Ponferrada are much bigger than I enjoy. Tonight I'm staying in Ponferrada, because I'm sorry and need to stop. I really enjoyed my stay, due to the...

    Leaving Molinaseca

Tomorrow I head to Albergue Alea in Ponferrada. It's not in the main town, but rather to the east a bit. I see that after Molinaseca there is an option to continue along 142 or to head further south past Campo. From what I'm reading the southern route is longer but nicer. I don't see anything...

    Trains and sims

I ended up with Orange sim 20 euros for 28 days and well over 100 gb. Since TMobile bought Mint, they started offering an international plan that I hoped would work similar to their TMobile customers. Not so....

What's the Camino like right now?

Yesterday I walked from La Virgen del Camino to Villar de Mazarife and saw zero pilgrims. Albeit I started late (11:30) due to phone troubles that I wanted fixed first. In Leon at my albergue, the people I heard where young Spanish fellow's. Several quiet seniors, so quiet I don't know what...

    Trains and sims

I arrived yesterday at the Madrid airport to begin my first Camino in Leon. I was able to use a commuter train between the airport to very close to the Renfe station. True there is construction, so there was some extra walking. However stopping to ask anyone in a yellow vest I was able to find...

Eyeglass Case -- necessary or not?

Thank you, everyone! Hard case it is and possibly a back up pair.

Eyeglass Case -- necessary or not?

I basically cannot see without my glasses (450/375). At night, typically I simply leave them on my nightstand or in my bathroom. While on Camino, especially in an albergue even with a semi-private room, where does one put their glasses? Do I need to bring a case? I don't want to waste the space...
