    Jewish Quarters?

The Jewish Quarter in Burgos was adjacent to the Arco de San Martin, and very close to the home of El Cid, if memory serves.... Sort of on the way out of town from el centro. Not sure if there's anything to see in it's regard....

    Splurge-Worthy

That was my "Hurt Foot Camino" and I was keeping daily distances down.... Walked from Ponferrada to Cacabelos, and the next day from Cacabelos to Villafranca. Two short, easy, delightful days!

    Easter 2025 on the Frances

Still tempted by an event-focused Holy Week trip.... And contemplating the April 2025 calendar, I see that I could easily do Palm Sunday in Logrono, Maundy Thursday and Good Friday in Burgos, and Easter Sunday in Leon. Bussing between the towns should be easy and cheap.... But IF I decide to do...

    Splurge-Worthy

Reminds me of my charming 2021 room at the Hostal Siglo XIX in Cacabelos, with its spacious enclosed balcony overlooking the town church.

    Easter 2025 on the Frances

Logrono is looking better and better for me for next Easter.... I know that many pilgrims just blow thru it, but I stopped there and explored it in 2012, 2015 and 2019, and have fond memories of it. Outside the casco viejo it reminds me of the Mexico City I grew up in in the early 1960s...

    Easter 2025 on the Frances

My first visit to the Camino was in 1977. My first full Frances was in 2012. My most recent visit was in October 2023. (And I did many in between....) I'm a Camino veteran, OK?! My heart lives on the Camino! That said, as an ordained clergyman I was never free to visit Spain for Holy Week...

    St. Lawrence of Brindisi

Tomorrow (July 21st) is the Feast of St. Lawrence of Brindisi, OFM Cap, Doctor of the Church, d. 1619, who lies in peace in the chapel of the cloistered Poor Clare's Convento de la Annunciada in Villafranca del Bierzo. I don't think that many pereginos are aware of that.... Some years back...

    Camino by Coach

It occurs to me that, even though I have several times encountered coach groups along the Way, I've never seen any advertising for a coach tour..... I'd be very interested in seeing an advertisement for a coach tour, and what claims are made therein....

And the Los Arcos bus stop is on the main road, adjacent to the Hotel Monaco, near the Plaza del Corso.

Paulo Coelho's "The Pilgrimage" to be made into a Netflix movie

Dreadful book! ... I bought a copy in SdeC one year, to read on the flight back to the States. Like you, I couldn't manage more than a few pages. Threw it away at the end of my flight.

LIVE from the Camino A slow Finisterre walk

Be sure to tell us about your accommodations!
  17. rappahannock_rev

Is 5 days in Finisterre a bad idea?

Your time would be better spent in SdeC., which has a great deal more to see and experience than most peregrinos realize.
