Panniers or Trailer?

I'm not a strong cyclist ( female, mid-fifties, fattish ) but found my 'Extrawheel' trailer from Poland was the answer when carrying camping gear through Holland, Belgium, France and on the Camino last Spring/Summer; bike panniers always feel heavy to me,and detract from the pleasure of cycling...

Hand washing clothes

Trampling your clothes underfoot as you shower works a treat,and soon becomes speedy, efficient and automatic ;I have just found my husband fully clothed in the shower ,and we've been home 3 days. G.

How long biking from Holland?

Hello B.and P.,it took us 10 weeks from Holland to Santiago,via Le Puy en Velay and El Camino Frances,with an essential day off every 5 or 6 days.Looking back, I think we began at too fast a pace-( It was such a pleasure to feel increasingly fit ) we missed loads of sights and sites,and we were...

arrived Santiago 25th June,slightly dazed but with knees intact (despite all the walking- we usually had to push the bikes up hill).What an amazing,once in a lifetime, experience.Thank you, St. Jim!

We leave from our home in East Yorkshire, by bikes, on 14th April, and will reach Santiago sometime this summer/next summer/whenever; with 3 good knees between us we will do what we can.Already feeling supported by the collective wisdom of the forum,Buen Camino a todos!G & G.
