    Topo Wearers!

I have walked 3 caminos. I just walked the Norte in September in Topo ultraventure. My favorite shoes! The Norte has a lot of asphalt. The tread held up great. My foot measures 6.5. I wore a 7.5 and they were perfect. My new go to Camino shoe!

    Topo Wearers!

I too am a Topo convert. I switched from Altra most recently. For my next adventure I have purchased the Traverse. I have not had to size up but I generally wear my shoes "roomy". I have plenty of length to descend without touching the front. You won't be disappointed.

    Topo Wearers!

Thanks for sharing your experience, I sincerely appreciate it. I’m so glad to hear that your Topos worked well for you! It’s encouraging to hear. I was pretty committed to my Hoka Speedgoats until last summer when I ended up with some hefty pinch blisters, likely because they are too narrow for...

    Topo Wearers!

I really love my Topo Ultraventure 3s for my local hikes. I was torn on what to bring on a recent short Camino (Vasco) and ended up going with my Hoka Challengers because they are waterproof and rain was forecast everyday. I regretted it after the first day and will go with Topos going...

    Topo Wearers!

Hello 👋! I’ve decided on Topo Ultraventure 3’s for my Camino Frances this July & August. They feel great! I decided on them for the wide toe box with drop, and will pair them with my trusty wrightsocks. I struggle with foot swelling and being prone to blisters during summer hiking, so hoping...

Reviews: Stiff rocker-style shoes that come in women's extra wide

...wide enough in NZ - it is very uncommon to come across anything non-standard. A few D widths (but not with the rocker sole in my search so far). I have currently settled on a Topo Ultraventure which is wonderful width, but not so stiff. So thanks for suggestions to help me further my search.

    Shoe choice

Me too , but the traverse is almost identical to ultraventure pro . It appears that the pursuit it the new Altra killer… :)

Dark colored shoes too hot in summer?

...both to REI and a specialty running store to be fitted and try out different styles. So far I've narrowed it down to probably the Topo Ultraventure 3. But having spent time in Greece in the summer, I found that the sun beating down on dark colored shoes can make your feet excessively hot...

Pants or Shorts? Second pair of Shoes?

...been my favourite because they suit my feet best. Until they didn't. I currently have tendinopathy and my physio has said a big NO to sandals. I'm currently wearing Topo Ultraventure 3. I still prefer the sandals but I need to take some load off my Achilles and these are performing well for that.

A wide toe box trail runner

Ah! I wore Topo' on the Primitivo and Del Norte in June! So comfortable. Not one blister, or any discomfort. I never heard of Topos. There is so much marketing hype in the internet reviews written by sponsored reviewers that I elected to stay away from the ones that were most celebrated. Topos...

A wide toe box trail runner

I have heard of Topo. Altra does have trail runners. I walked 400 miles in them recently and found them to be ideal! No need for break-in period. Very comfortable toe box and tight fit around ankle so that pebbles aren't constantly sneaking into the shoe.

These look great, and not as expensive as some other brands. Another brand of trail runners with a wide toe box is Saucony. They made my feet look enormous (good practice for laughing at my ego), but I walked the Camino Frances with nary a blister.

Yes, Topo Ultraventurers are the ones! Still my all time favorites. Glad to hear about the boot. I will look them up. Thanks!

I have been wearing Topo ultra ventures for the Portuguese Camino and the Kumano kodo. They seem to be a blend of the altra toe box and hoka comfort.

A wide toe box trail runner

I have been using Topo Ultraventures to train in and appreciate that they are slightly higher than Altras. I have not worn them on a camino, but I have found that the part of the shoes surrounding the top of the heel has worn out and is unraveling. I have made do because the shoes are...

I should have said above that I also went with the Terraventures, rather than the Ultraventures, with a Superfeet insole.

A wide toe box trail runner

The topo Terraventure 3 trail runners, combined with Injinji toe socks and Superfeet Trailblazer inserts, kept me blister-free walking del Norte from Irun to Santiago last spring. I had tried the Altra Lone Peaks, which did not offer enough midfoot support. The Terraventure 3 have a wide toe box...

TOPOS!!! I always recommend their shoes - as you noted - wide toebox, also very good arch support, (though I replace them w/ Currex insoles, due to high arches.) Mine held up beautifully from SJPDP to Muxia and Fisterre. Did have to replace one shoelace. Hard to believe these went nearly 600 miles.
