Walked the Camino over 12 times to Santiago never once went into Cathedral.

I dipped in briefly both times I arrived in Santiago. I grew up evangelical, though, and the hordes of kids sprawling in the pews while the elderly stood really irrationally irritated me so I left. (Yeah, I know, different cultures and all that. I still didn't appreciate it) I'd rather be...

Anything you want for Camino but it doesn't seem to have been invented?

Yep! I asked about her all along the path and prayed for her every day that she made it to Santiago.

Anything you want for Camino but it doesn't seem to have been invented?

Haha! This is so true. Thank you for this. Sometimes I read here or on the many FB groups about people's "musts" for the pilgrimage and I always think "Don't you want to challenge yourself? Don't you want to step out there without your "musts" and see how you handle it? Don't you want the...

Anything you want for Camino but it doesn't seem to have been invented?

Same! And I asked the volunteer at the Pilgrim Office in SJPP where he was from. It took several times of him saying it before I understood "Bordeaux" One of the things that always brings awe and wonder to my Camino is sitting around and hearing all the different accents and languages.

Two injuries and rescues on the descent to Molinaseca

Arriving in Molinaseca, I sure felt like I had accomplished something big. Right up there with the Zubiri descent.

Why do pilgrims fly to Pamplona.

Oh my goodness crossing the Pyrenees is one of the most magical parts of the Frances. I'm so glad I challenged myself to do it! Twice!

Camino Planning with Chat GPT - Hmmmm

Thank you for sharing this! I am giving a short (25 minute!!!) presentation to our local Lion's club tomorrow evening. Used the prompt: I need an outline for a 25 minute presentation on Camino Frances using physical/mental/spiritual phases. The outline it spilled out in literally SECONDS...

    Lost items tales

I discovered I had lost my US passport when I tried to check in at lodging in Pamplona. Fortunately, my travel plans included three weeks after SdC to travel Portugal and South Spain so I wasn't too worried. The worst thing that would happen was that I was going to have to miss the Pearl Jam...

    Abandoned elderly pilgrims

This post reminded me of Ms Martha from California. 86 years old on her third Camino. Does anyone know if she made it to SdC?

Do you have a method or list of towns and distances?

I printed the godescalco and cut into small sheets that I stuck in my journal. Every evening we would sit down with tinto de verano and figure out where we wanted to head the next day. Invaluable. I just threw each page away when I was done with it.

    Parkinson’s

I'm so glad to have met you on the saunter over the Pyrenees. The laughter and fun we had sliding through the mud will always be a fond memory of my Camino. I hope to see y'all out there again. You both bring so much light to the world. Truly the kind of pilgrims everyone wants to meet...

Are passport copies accepted at albergues?

Absolutely love this idea and I absolutely will do this if I'm ever fortunate enough to do another Camino. I lost my US passport somewhere around Roncesvalles and used a picture of it that I had on my phone to check into lodging.

    Random Acts of Kindness

I saw the title and couldn't wait to read about people's Camino magic. Thanks for sharing this. (and it doesn't surprise me a bit that the flock of pigeons shows up to poop on the post). So much Camino magic and so many stories. Any time someone was on the side of the trail-fixing shoes...

Pilgrims Behaving Badly - Is the Camino Frances full?

Isn't it wonderful how different the Camino is than what you would expect from reading the posts here and the fb groups?

A general "don't bring/don't pack" in your attitude kit

And some of us do our best to stay away from overly sensitive people. Other's therapy issues are not mine and I choose to not be a part of them Camino OR real life.
