    Eating up data in Spain

...tips: https://medium.com/@jayatigupta97/13-tips-on-how-to-save-international-roaming-data-charges-59b60c9b884f My next phone will have a. dual SIM, which I hope will allow me to remain contactable on my main number, while giving me a cheap local contract for data. I think there are ways to...

LIVE from the Camino BP starts from Alicante, version 3.0 (2019)!

Thanks K1, I am taking notes of this. I had no idea what was going on with my phone. If I can learn how to compress my photos, maybe I can even learn how to handle my phone...

...useful on less walked Caminos in remote areas and for using on-line GPS. You just make sure you can top up that foreign SIM via internet. I'm coming from EU so I already do have my SIM card with no roaming fees but having dual SIM phone I always buy prepaid Spanish SIM card just in case.

Sim card or international phone card?

...it). It looks like the easiest solution, would be to buy a spanish phone card (I could get one online and set it up before I go). It's a dual SIM as well, I suppose I could buy an international SIM card. I don't use a lot of tech, but I'm usually not an idiot when it comes to figuring it out...

LIVE from the Camino And we're off. Camino de la Lana. May 2019.

...a new phone the day I few out. I didn't want to carry my camera anymore or an iPad, just this phone and my old one as a backup. I bought the dual SIM Huawei P20 Pro, last year's flagship model, because I wanted a phone with a much better camera but not spending silly money in the process. It...

    SIM card confusion

With the Samsung J7, you're in luck. That "dual SIM" model has three slots. But (buyer beware!) not everything that is advertised as "dual SIM" has an additional dedicated memory card slot. Some just have one "SIM" slot plus one "SIM/Memory dual function" slot. (I've owned both kinds of phone.)

    SIM Card question (again)

Don't you just hate the way companies these days skimp on their documentation? Review sites do a much better job. Use this web page to get the Project FI overview: https://www.tomsguide.com/us/project-fi-faq,review-4530.html I believe you still have to be a US resident to use it but they...

    SIM Card question (again)

The T-mobile plans in the US work pretty much the same as Google Fi. I have used my T-mobile plan on all of my Caminos and also on trips to Mexico and Guatemala. Unlimited roaming data is included, along with unlimited texting to/from US numbers.

    SIM Card question (again)

...getting off the bus and no gps. So I got a portugal orange sim , also. This year I will try google-fi seems reasonable with no changes to phone number and data costs the same as in the US. A dual sim phone is a good option, just in case. link: https://fi.google.com/about/international-rates/

Oh dear... cell phone app Iphone — Vodaphone — question and warning

...no roaming fees but then she would pay a lot if in emergency calling me. That's why we get the same package and it was OK because I have dual SIM phone. 10€ for 1,5GB, 15 minutes of talk (unlimited & free within Youser SIMs) and some text messages and all in 4G. For 30 days. She ran out of...

    Cell phone/SIM card

You can also purchase an inexpensive unlocked, dual SIM phone on Amazon. I got a BLU phone for around $50. I had access to my US number and my Spanish number. You may not have access to all your apps. Whatever you do, add +1 to all your US numbers (no impact on dialing here) and +34 for...

    Cell phone/SIM card

Best thing I put in my phone was a Spanish sim it was brilliant 20 euros lasted three months I still have it in while in Spain and a good contact for local services you made need. It takes about 30 seconds to fit your normal one if needed or just get a dual sim phone.

    Cell phone/SIM card

...(SD) card of your phone and you can use them regardless of the SIM card in your phone. So you can change the SIM cards as many times as you wish for different purposes. The other option is if you have Dual SIM smart phone. That's really easy, don't have to change them just switch between them ;)

    Rates using Booking.com

Yes, very often used by expats. But pricy. Google "dual sim cards" and lots will come up, including this: http://www.techadvisor.co.uk/test-centre/mobile-phone/best-dual-sim-phones-for-2017-3511526/

Many even comes with dual SIM slot in case you want cheaper data with local Spanish SIM card while still retaining your UK SIM. A screen size of 5.5 inch would be still be...

    Sim Cards

I use a pre-payed SIM card from Three in the UK for data. It provides 12GB of 3G+(HSDPA) data anywhere in Europe for just £30. I have a dual SIM card so did not use it for voice and text but I used Whatsapp for most calls and messages anyway. I found it to be tremendous value and never had to...

So it will be Via de la Plata for three weeks, then the Invierno to Santiago, and then ... drumroll ... the San Salvador. Of course, all this, if joints, tendons and muscules...
