Purchasing Orange ESIM for Data, Calls and Texts in Europe with Unlocked iPhone: Any Recommendations?

I took my SIM and transfered its information unto my eSIM and brought my physical SIM card with me. This gave me the flexibility of using either a SIM card or an eSIM in Spain. I did buy a physical SIM there so I can't directly answer your question. Also, I used a phone with an early version of...

Is a 4G phone enough in Spain?

One slot for the SIM and one for the SD card, they say dual SIM but it's not.

Is a 4G phone enough in Spain?

Unfortunately I recently bought it at an ATT store. They sold it to me locked. They told me it took 2 SIMS, but only one slot was available. My Mexican Telcel SIM doesn't even work in the available slot. Getting it unlocked as I write.

Is a 4G phone enough in Spain?

I'm a bit confused. The Samsung S13 specs I see say that it also has dual SIM.

Buying a Spanish SIM card for the Camino: Experiences purchasing from the US

If your phone has dual SIM capabilies adding a second, overseas, number is my recommendation. Dual SIM could be either two physical SIM slots, a physical SIM and an eSIM, or just an eSIM that allows multiple connections. This link brings you to a list of forum threads that have the word eSIM...

Rely on wifi or get a data plan?

I can see the advantages of wifi and the keeping of your home number and plan but if you have a dual sim phone I recommend picking up a local sim for the second. Data is too cheap in Spain not to.

Euro Phone Charger with Dual Output

Just buy one when you get there, you will easily find one in any department store or phone/electronics shop or bodega where you get your sim. Much easier to do in Spain.

Using a Cell Phone in Portugal: Tips for Traveling Canadians

...abroad, you use WhatsApp or Viber. Does this mean that you do NOT have a local phone number via SIM or eSIM? I just got a Samsung s22+ with dual SIM capacity (using T-Mobile Magenta 55+) and I've been trying to figure out whether I needed a local phone number - particularly for calling ahead...

Sim card or E-sim card — what’s the difference?

...or battery so it has gotten smaller over the years. Phones have gotten more sophisticated and can now handle more than one phone number. Dual SIM phones were developed that could take more than one physical SIM. Then someone got the idea of building the really tiny SIM chip into the phone...

    E SIM

If your phone supports dual SIMs and Wi-Fi calling you may be able to use your US number over a local SIM card's data. Earlier this year in Colombia, my Pixel 6 + GoogleFi eSIM (US only plan) + Colombian SIM kept my US number working. This turned out to be quite handy ... other than still...

Yes. This short video from Apple Support shows how to use dual SIM. What you asked is covered at 1:30. They show how to name your SIMs. You may want to use a name like SpanishData instead of Business like in their example.

Thank you @DoughnutANZ for your posts. I'm going to add a few things. I just got the newly released Google Pixel 6a. It is dual SIM, one eSIM and a card. The Pixel 7 to be released in October will have the same. I have no doubt that sometime soon there will only be eSIMs used though; that will...

    E SIM

The other thing to get used to with a dual SIM phone is how to set up your SIM cards for your preferred use. I have an Android based dual SIM phone and I constantly have two SIM cards in. One is a personal SIM and has a number associated with it that my friends and family know by heart. The...

...the network provider. This might explain why @BombayBill is having his problems. It is possible to use a data only eSIM or SIM card in a dual SIM phone but you would need to know what you are doing when setting it up. In my opinion, it would be much simpler to set up a full function eSIM/SIM...

    E SIM

This makes sense to me. I think that this is probably the easier method, simply because most vendors are used to installing physical SIM cards, and eSIMs are newer technology. I would rather do the eSIM at home and make sure that it works properly, then install a physical SIM abroad.

...you did it this way? Is there an advantage? It seems like a hassle to me to set up eSim at home. I have only just upgraded my phone with dual Sim capabilities and I'd love to know the advantages/disadvantages to changing your home (for me the USA) connection to the eSim when it is already...

I have 2 dual (physical) sim phones. I'm pretty sure the basic none smart one weighs less than 150g. Even if you need to carry 2 phones, you only need one smartphone.
