I think the sheer number of comments advising caution at such a late start from SJPDP show how people are concerned at your plan . Different types of trains and their rules....
When 4 of us tried to got the train from Santiago back to Porto in 2016 we got as far as Vigo before we were effectively asked to leave the train , by the guard. The train manager would only allow i think 2 bikes upon the train and we had to split up and wait 6 hours for the infrequent trains to...- Sd217

Camino del Norte in October - from Santander to Santiago
I think most albergues close at the end of Oct, well i hope so as im landing in Bilbao and bussing to Irun on the 9th oth Oct so we might pass if you stay on the Norte . Its late i know but work dictates , i had a week on the French Way in March, boy was it cold . Buen Camino- Sd217

Eyeglass Case -- necessary or not?
