    Santiago Accommodations

Jarrad, thanks for the input. We have found a place. Bristow! Wow! Maybe we could trade Camino stories someplace closer to home. 🙂

    Santiago Accommodations

Thanks. I tried Hostal Suso, and they are not available on our dates. We have since found a place. 🙂

    Santiago Accommodations

My wife and I expect to arrive in Santiago on 26 Sep and stay for three nights. We are finding accommodations to be difficult to find. We’d like to be within approximately 10-15 minutes from the cathedral/old city. Does anyone have recommendations? Thanks in advance.

    Getting From Paris to Oviedo

Henry, our plans did change. We were going to do the first leg of the Frances (SJPP to Roncesvalles...we did that last year and loved it). Time became a factor, and we chose to start in Oviedo (where we came off del Norte last year). Our flights were not changeable. Thanks for the thoughts.

New Member and Camino do Mar Question

Hello! I was just checking in to see how your walk went/is going? How was the Camino do Mar? If you have any suggestions (places to stay/avoid; routes to take/avoid; etc...), I would be interested in hearing about your journey. Thanks, Dean

2nd camino in October 2024 - del Norte or Frances? General questions

Last year, my wife and I walked the first stage of Camino Frances (St Jean Pied de Port to Roncesvalles...fantastic stage), then we transferred to Camino del Norte via bus to Irun. We loved del Norte. Once we arrived in Villaviciosa, we picked up the Primitivo...and equally loved the...

A quote that seemed "camino" to me this morning

Love it! My wife and I walked a combination of four caminos last Aug-Sep. La Vuelta (multi-stage bike race in Spain) was going on at the same time. We saw a quote/saying associated with that bike race that said, "Una vida tiene muchas etapas." Translated, that means "a life has many stages."...

    Is this crazy?

I agree with so many of the comments. We learned very early that “the Camino provides.” It does. Get out there, enjoy the sites, enjoy the people, and relax. You will get to where you’re going. One thing that reduced stress for us on the Camino del Norte was booking accommodations ahead (just...

Starting Inglés soon - need to book?

    Camino Ingles start and compostela

In September 2024, my wife and I will be walking the Camino del Norte from Aviles to Ribadeo, then we're getting on the Camino/Ruta do Mar and eventually merging onto the Camino Ingles at/near Xubia. Do we need to go into Ferrol (or a Coruna) to qualify for a Camino Ingles compostela? We'd...

    Bodenaya?

We stayed at Bodenaya last Sep. It was one of our favorite stops. Highly recommend. Allison was fantastic!

Young people on the Camino Primitivo

Hey Jimcamino! My wife and I started our Primitivo last year on 31 Aug. We started in Amandi (just north of Oviedo). You will meet all kinds of people on the Primitivo, including younger folks. As others have said, the Camino is the great equalizer…it somehow makes everyone the same. Age (or...

    Ruta do Mar (August 2024)

Olimpia, through your research, what have you found out about lodging/accommodations? I'll be looking over the accommodations spreadsheet Dave Whitson put together (identified in a previous post).

New Member and Camino do Mar Question

Thanks, Dave. I purchased your guidebook. It's dated 2019. Is that the most updated version? I know I can go to your site and check out the updates; however, I was wondering if there's a version that contains most/all of the updates. Even as is, the 2019 version is quite helpful. My wife...
