    Combining meds in one container

Since posting that I was talking to my eldest brother - he's 14 years older than me - and he said Mum and Dad used to buy Beecham's Powders (a cold cure) that came in a paper wrap. Looked it up: Active ingredients Each powder contains: Aspirin 600 mg and Caffeine 50 mg. Other ingredients...

To increase my backpack size ...or not.

It's an older version of this one: Sanitas - made in Germany. Not so much a gun as a tens/ems/massager. Bought originally for lower back pain, now used for my dodgy left knee and for shoulder massage to keep carpal tunnel syndrome at bay - oh the joys of aging! These are good too Pain Gone Pen...

Injured after stage one and upset

Well that sucks but all is not lost. Volteren gel can be your friend although it's a diclofenac which can have side effects so, if you do buy it, talk to the pharmacist about any existing medical conditions you might have. Hiking poles are worthwhile too if you haven't already got them...

To increase my backpack size ...or not.

Me too! 140g of nerve tingling bliss, wonderful aren't they?

To increase my backpack size ...or not.

I suppose a larger pack would provide space for a Nespresso* machine thus killing two addictions with one stone? * Other caffeine delivery systems are available.

    Morning Coffee Idea

80€ plus tax? Presumably Jeeves the butler can conjure up the hot water?

    FEVE Ferrol to Santander

Spaniards give a languid wave, everybody else jumps up and down in a frenzy.

    Combining meds in one container

Oddly enough I was reading a short story last night, one from the "Golden Age" of crime fiction wherein the murderer bought her poison from a chemist and it was packaged in a "bindle". I had to look it up - it's a small piece of paper folded to make an envelope that holds a medicinal powder*...

    Lightweight cooking Pot or Cup?

A spoon is, after all, more useful than a fork. Imagine trying to eat soup . . . .

    Combining meds in one container

Especially as different manufacturers make the same medicine in different shapes and sizes. My latest prescription for Atorvastatin is a much smaller pill than last time and the Doxazosin is lozenge shaped rather than circular!

    Lightweight cooking Pot or Cup?

I bought a copy of an Opinel in Puenta la Reina in 2012. 4,50€ and still going strong. I think it's also called "cut-and-switch" - Use a knife and fork, cut the food up. Put down the knife. Transfer the fork to the right hand. Eat. It's obviously not common across all 50 states then? One of...

    Stamps Question Again

40k in one day? Bravissimo! Well done and I hope your Camino brings you solace.

    Stamps Question Again

    They lied to you!

    Combining meds in one container

I second the idea of making sure that the meds are labelled. I heard of somebody who followed the advice of an online "influencer" and put their two different tablets in a couple of (clean) tic-tac boxes. Explaining what 60 white pills were to security didn't sound like fun. Fortunately my four...

    Lightweight cooking Pot or Cup?

And possibly some kind of utensil? I stayed in an Air BnB in Prague in June - fabulously equipped kitchen but not a single dinner or steak knife. We ended up using a carving knife at the counter and eating American style with a fork. My implement of choice is a titanium spork - longer lasting...

    Morning Coffee Idea

If it's a coffee flavoured caffeine hit you want then you might care to seek out these: They give you a little boost without the need for hot water. Made in Indonesia but certainly available in Europe, we discovered we could buy them from a local Chinese supermarket here in the UK for about...

Top 15 Small Churches On The Camino

Saint Martin's Canterbury. First church on the via Frangencia and the site of Christian worship for over 1400 years and such a modest little church St Martin's And my favourite on the Camino Frances: Igrexa de San Xoán de Furelos because (apparently) I have a thing about the crucifix. San Xoán
