Hi everyone,
I've been getting requests for information about the beautiful Ruta Dragonte on the Camino Francés, one of the three options from Villafranca del Bierzo (rejoining the main route at Las Herrerías). It is a very challenging one-day route that definitely isn't for everyone, but it is incredibly scenic, peaceful, and offers a glimpse of rural Spain not really seen elsewhere on the Francés.
There isn’t much info available on the Dragonte so I've written this in-depth guide to help those interested in exploring the route.
The guide includes an overview, elevation profile chart, multiple annotated maps (overview plus sections), walking directions, a few lame jokes (sorry!), and more.
PDF and ePub versions are available. Latest versions are always available on my website (www.trekopedia.com), though I'll try to remember to upload them here, too.
Of course, you’ll find most of the same content in our free TrailSmart app (along with all of the helpful geo-location functionality that TrailSmart can provide, making the content more ‘intelligent’).
Feedback is very much welcomed – big or small, good or bad!
Buen Camino!
