A Pilgrimage is time I spend praying with my feet
Time of past OR future Camino
2017, 2018, 2019, 2025
In recent private messaging with Camino Chrissy, I realized that I may not have offered my thanks to all of you who supported me with generous donations for travel to my son's wedding. So let me take this time to state that I cannot begin to thank you enough for the blessing you provided.

The wedding was wonderful. It took place outside of Glenwood Springs in Colorado at a lovely, old farm that had been converted into an events center for events like weddings. Views of a small lake on the property along with mountain scapes and autumn leaves that were turning bright colors. . and the perfect weather.

I was not able to participate very much in family events prior to, or during the wedding itself due to my health issues. The travel, which was nothing unusual in terms of someone in normal health, did take a toll. I did end up visiting the local ER on one occasion due to worries about increasing heart failure symptoms from increased shortness of breath and severe edema.

None of that mattered. . the ability to be there for my son and his special day with his new bride is now a cherished and treasured memory. If it wasn't for members of this Forum, I would have missed it. God Bless you. And for those who sent so many heartfelt and supportive messages, you cannot imagine how much they have meant to me.

My prognosis? Despite the setback and the recovery after returning home, I keep hearing from my providers that things are improving, albeit very slowly. No one has yet to come up with a reason why I suddenly began experiencing ventricular failure, but it seems that the pacemaker and medications have indeed been helping,

I have not given up on returning for another pilgrimage on a Camino route. It is a goal that helps me keep focused on recovery.

My apologies @davebugg I was not aware of your (more recent) Health issues and your travel plans.
Well done to those who rallied to the call.
I'm so glad to hear that all went well.
Best Wishes for your improvement, and keep your sights on that next Camino!

Davebugg, I live about 30 minutes upstream from Glenwood Springs, and I know the venue of which you speak.

There is congestive heart failure in my family, and I get a cardiac checkup every six months. So far, at 78, I seem to be holding up. I've thought for years that at some point I would bump into you on the Camino, although for me the Camino is the Frances. I'm doing it again starting late May next summer, for the sixth time.

Like you, I came from to the Camino after many years of wilderness backpacking. We all miss your gear reviews and comments.

David, I too, missed the postings regarding your current medical issues. I am so very sorry that you are experiencing such challenging medical issues. It was great that you were able to be present for your son’s wedding. I hope the pacemaker and various meds may allow you to walk another camino inthe not so far future. Know you are in my thoughts and prayer. Marlene

Unlike the others who have replied so far, I WAS aware of your new journey with your health, but I didn't know about your son's wedding. So glad you could make it and get to treasure the memory now.

I did not realise you were having medical problems. Good to see you were able to enjoy your sons wedding and are showing signs of improvement. The Camino will be there when you are ready.

Another here who was not aware of recent challenges and joys. I am so glad you were able to travel, to enjoy your son’s wedding, and that you are improving, albeit slowly. May the line stay on that trajectory, and may you experience every blessing.

I too was unaware of these several troubles, @davebugg , though I am very pleased that you have been given these wonderful blessings in the midst of them.
