Not sure if this is appropriate use of the forum - but I just completed the Camino Frances last week (yay!!!) and bought a souvenir jet/silver ring for myself in Santiago, and the the jet stone already fell out of the ring and has been lost (booo!!!!). Is there any chance somebody, preferably from America, is heading into Santiago soon and could pick up a replacement ring to ship to me (in Seattle, WA) when you get home? Would reimburse via venmo!

Some of the jewelers do have websites but they have a very limited selection of options on the site, they are very marked up, and shipping is expensive, so giving this a shot first. Thanks!

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Send me a picture of the ring. I will be in Santiago in a couple weeks!
Thank you so much! Would you be able to message me first? I think I’m too new/inactive of a member to initiate a private message.

I’m not seeing that option. I can only follow/unfollow or ignore.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I wanted (and still want) a ring with a jet shell so badly, but all the rings I looked at the jet is glued into the setting. I worked at a jewellers for a decade and I know that jet is incredibly soft and brittle so standard bezel or claw settings are difficult to impossible, but they can and should be backset to avoid popping out - but will not stop it from chipping or breaking.

I'm sorry your stone fell out and glad someone is trying to get you a replacement.
