Good to see a man of the cloth keeping the communion wine to hand.Reminds me of my 2021 charming room at the Hostal Siglo XIX in Cacabelos, with its spacious enclosed balcony overlooking the town church.

Yes, really great place, stayed there in 17 and 18. A fabulous breakfast buffet and just around the corner from Sobrinos del Padre, one of my favourite restaurants in Santiago.Hotel San Miguel

It appears only breakfast. The new proprietor is very lovely.Well deserved!
Do they still have the restaurant part?
I was treated to a nice welcome lunch there on my first arrival in 2011.

That was my "Hurt Foot Camino" and I was keeping daily distances down.... Walked from Ponferrada to Cacabelos, and the next day from Cacabelos to Villafranca. Two short, easy, delightful days!Do you walk there from Ponferrada and skip staying in Villafranca del Bierzo?
