Credential dimensions?

Time of past OR future Camino
Sept 25, 2024. SJPDP to SdC
Starting in CF late September… looking for a small fanny pack / shoulder pack…but it needs to have a pocket
large enough for a credential. Can anybody provide me with the dimensions of a folded credential obtained from the
pilgrim office in SJPP ?

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I got 6 different credentials:
- the higher measures 17,5 cm
- the larger measures 10,5 cm

The one I got from SJPP Pilgrim Office this summer is 17.5cm x 10cm. Others I saw/bought along the way were all slightly smaller

Mine from SJPP is 100cm x 175cm or about 4" x 6 7/8" so definitely bigger than my US passport. I used Fjallraven High Coast Hip Pack and it worked perfectly for my credential, money and other items I wanted to be able to access easily.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
If the pocket has a zipper -- a good thing -- the entry may be a cm or so narrower than the actual pocket. If the credencial and the pocket are the same dimensions, you may not be able to get it in. Buen Camino

Mine measures 4" X 6" or 10 cm+ a couple of hairs X 15 cm+ 3-4 hairs. Will fit in a regular (US) small zip lock bag with room to spare.

Buen Camino. Ultreia.

Hi Joe, and welcome.

When you get your credencial, the pilgrim office will also give you a ziploc bag to keep it dry in case of rain. I put my passport in along with it (about the same size) and carried both in a pouch I hung around my neck. That way I always knew where it was.

Buen Camino!

The OP is a Canuck... Welcome! For Yanks wondering the same thing there's additional useful information in last year's thread titled: "Dimensions of Camino Passport". Here's my two cents:

My credential from American Pilgrims (it says Revised 2017 on the back) is one eighth inch wider than my U.S. Passport and is one and one eights inches longer.

The credential from the Pilgrim's Office in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (Les Amis du Chemin de Saint-Jacques Pyrénées-Atlantiques) is one half inch wider than my U.S. Passport and is two inches longer.

All three together exactly fit into my Rick Steves money belt!

Buen Camino!!
