Plenty of poles to purchase in SJPP next week??

Time of past OR future Camino
July 20 - Sept 5
Well, after getting my poles through TSA 15-20 times in my suitcase, they were confiscated in Denver inside a backpack after 2 successes at other airports. I didn’t have time nor inclination to check them as this was a practice for my trip to St Jean next Wednesday. (My first Camino!)
Does anyone know if there’s a shortage of poles to purchase in SJPP?

...and ship it to Santiago for storage. You pick it up once in Santiago. Service offered by Casa Ivar (we use DHL for transportation).
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
I stopped in Pamplona to bus to SJpp and found a sporting goods store near the bus station. You could Google anywhere and probably see what stock is available wherever you are.

Denver- uggg. Sorry that happened. Sometimes it seems like there is no solid rules with TSA and an arbitrary TSA agent can just decide to ruin your day.

Actually, on the TSA website it says that hiking poles are not allowed in the cabin.

The TSA agent would be making an exception to the rule to allow them.

I know many people carry them on with no issue, but I would always assume that the rule could be followed, and I'd have to give them up or have a back up plan to check them in.

Ask your physician for a note that explains the necessity of having them. Show this to the TSA agent and you're in!!!! : ).

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Back is blank for engraving.

Do you know the name of the sporting goods store near the Pamplona bus station?

Normally there is plenty of them. Just outside the Pilgrim Office there is a special Pilgrim shop, and another one a bit Downey the Street.
Buon Camino. I'm on in mid September.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-
Decathlon Sporting Goods is an 8 minute (600m) walk from the bus station in Pamplona, by the Plaza de Toros.

Thank you so much! Will be taking the train from Madrid to Pamplona, having an overnight stay and then busing to SJPP the next day later in September. Plenty of time to check out this store.

One woman in our group is 73 and she brought one pole to carry on the plane. TSA thought she was disabled and gave her a cane to walk through security while they put her belongings, with pole through the x-ray machine. She was on her way to walk the Camino!
