Hikers / Lamb Wool

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Any places to grab some before/during the Camino Frances? Don't think I'll be able to grab any in advance.
When are you leaving? I buy wool on Amazon. I find the kind that's no marketed to hiker's to be less expensive. Look for "lamb's wool for feet."
You could also ask a podiatrist. My mother's podiatrist gave her some to deal with hammer toes.

Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Back is blank for engraving.
An acquaintance of mine picked it up at their local drugstore, I think Walgreens?
Here in Germany you can pick it up in the baby section for breastfeeding mothers, sorry no idea if that's what he did or what it is called in the States.

I saw a woman with a massive bag of it in El Ganso last night!! Not sure why she needed so much.

My wife learned about lambs wool during our first camino in 2015. Since then, she always stocks up on this for each camino. I believe she found some at a CVS pharmacy, but it's also available on Amazon. Both of us use this, by wrapping some around our toes that may be prone to developing blisters. And I use paper tape to secure the lambs wool in place. Bob

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

I remember seeing some along the barbed wire fence ( of a sheep paddock) just after leaving SJPP, on the Valcarlos route. I already had some with me, & it was probably too early on the track for mist walkers to realise they might need it.
( The Camino provides??? Wrong thread.😘)

Suggest use with caution
If intended for the front of the footwear it can cause its own problems, as I found out. It bunches up, a type of felting from pressure, sweat and heat. Perhaps I wasn’t using it correctly. ???

So I'm not a dancer, but I used to play piano for ballet lessons. You may have luck trying dance shops, or similar, since lambs wool is also used by some people in their pointe shoes! And failing that, you will be able to find toepads of various materials.

@pwgavin I'm not sure where you're based, but I had a quick look on the UK Amazon site for lambs wool toepads and the toe spacers showed up along with just packs of lambs wool. I could get it delivered by... Thursday. FWIW, my mum uses ouch pouches in her hiking boots.

Ideal pocket guides for during & after your Camino. Each weighs only 1.4 oz (40g)!
