I walked to the bridge on the French border the day before, asked a passerby to take a photo with the markeer in back ground.
Carried on walking in to France discovered a chocolate factory 10 minutes up the road on the left, made it worthwhile.

Start at the Cathedral. The office is around the left side and is open 9 am -3pm to get your credential stamped. Take food, water and euro coins . Buen Camino
