EI'd say that 12-15 miles (20-24 km) is more average. And start trying to think in kilometers, since that's what every pilgrim that you meet from outside the US plus sites like Gronze.com and guidebooks will be using.

If you haven't already you could download one of the apps like mapy.cz , wikiloc etc. Personally I find the desktop version of mapy to be excellent for planning your own route. You can research on here, pick and choose places that you would like... -

Ehi, @Octosaurus, welcome to the forum. From Lisbon, you have three choices (at least). The so-called coastal route, which really doesn’t spend much time on the coast at all, and goes through Sintra. We have a sub-forum on that route here...
