I always err on the side of caution and take one with me, a sleeping bag that is very light and very compact. It folds out into a blanket too. I never go without it. And I nearly always end up using it several times along the way.
I hate to be the naysayer here, but whether you need a sleeping bag or not doesn’t have anything to do with whether any of us would need a sleeping bag. We can only tell you whether we would need a bag, but that doesn’t really help you answer...
I like to pack light, so if it is cold (unlikely) you can put on thermal layers you have for cooler mornings - to sleep in. Leave the sleeping bag at home and reduce the size and weight of your pack!
Hello and welcome to the forum
That's a loaded question here, for some folks are strongly in the "always book ahead" camp and some are "never saw the need and never done it".
Sarria to SdC usually is quite busy being that "the last 100km"...
My son and I are walking from Sarria to Santiago the 3rd week of September. We hope to do it in six stages as we only have a week available. Do we need to book accommodation before we go?
We are walking from Sarria to Santiago the third week of September. Wondering if we need a proper sleeping bag or if a sleeping bag liner will be enough. Any thoughts?
