I’ve tried to read that book 3 or 4 times in different languages and it was impossible to read more than half a chapter. I’ve tried other books, also impossible to read. I can imagine the movie…😒

Yes, we should walk from Geneve to Le Puy but we gave up 7 days later due to the freaking hot sun, lack of water and so on. That was July/2020 if I’m not wrong.

I did both and were wonderful! Later on you will also have to choose between the lakes or the country side of Via Jacobi. Lakes are more beautiful and the country more isolated. A good idea for you to walk again later because CH is beautiful...
i’d rather have an excellent quality rain jacket than a trouser.
Usually, I always have both.
Best part of having a trouser is to protect your shoes and feet.
I use a Garmin and like it very much. With gps working about 10 hours a day in the mountains (no phone signal) I can hike about 3 days without having to charge it. As far as I remember because actually I never let the battery discharge 100%.
