I recommend doing these long walks on at least 3 consecutive days. The stress on your feet of walking long distances day after day can cause blisters to occur in people who never or rarely blister otherwise.

As Laurie said she didnt want to going through all the troubles trying to show the man how to operate on international phones. If you retain your US phone number (which BTW is what we do with T-Mobile) then he can dial your phone just the same...

I use a French SIM when In Spain. I am in Burgos tonight but just finished talking to my wife in the US using WhatsApp. Sounded like she was in the next room. Buen Camino

I agree with this. On a roadside, especially if it is a large truck coming, I stop walking and stand to the side until the vehicle is well past. The driver can see exactly where I am, in order to avoid me, I am unlikely to fall or trip, and also...
