Nice. I wouldn't add the weight of consumables or worn clothing, either. The base backpack weight is the most consistent way to compare changes in equipment and gear and clothing options.

Personally, I prefer to purchase my travel insurance independently from my flight. I like the Squaremouth.com site because it has filters so that I can purchase insurance that fits my needs.

I recommend doing these long walks on at least 3 consecutive days. The stress on your feet of walking long distances day after day can cause blisters to occur in people who never or rarely blister otherwise.
