My wife and I walked it in 12 days in the fall of 2018 at ages 59 and 58.
No rest days and it didn't feel at all rushed to us. First few days are quite hilly, but not too bad.
By far our favorite Camino out of the seven we have walked.
Not sure...
Primitivo for sure. My favorite by a mile out of seven walks so far.
It's a little hilly in spots, but very beautiful and not crowded...or at least in wasn't in the fall of 2018.
I've used a 60L pack for all seven Camino walks so far and like it. Easy to pack each morning. All gear inside my pack, nothing swinging on the outside as I walk.
Gear seems to expand the more days you are into your walk! My experience anyway.
I...
I have used a 60L pack for my seven walks so far. Not packed full, nothing strapped or swinging on the outside as I walk and easy to pack each morning. Just dump stuff in and go.
The micro pack contingent seem to struggle each morning getting all...
A complete 'nothing burger' with trekking poles. I did it in the spring rain with a stream from spring run off on much of it.
Shoes got wet, other than that, absolutely no drama.
Without trekking poles, it would have been more challenging for...
If you are competent at using trekking poles there really isn't a single part of any Camino to 'dread.'
For those that don't use or like trekking poles, extra caution is needed in the wet as much of the soil in many parts are heavy clay...
Exactly.
First Camino and the first day out of SJPP and I saw clouds and eagles flying below me as I looked into the valleys, how can you capture that in a photo?
After seven Caminos, or actually after my first two I've largely figured out a sock and trail shoe combo that eliminated my blister issue that plagued my first two walks.
I usually find after two weeks that I start to see signs of shin splints...
Take photos, but make sure you enjoy the subject first be it a spectacular sunset/sunrise, landscape, architecture or the company of another person.
Photos never really capture the moment as well as being present in the moment and enjoying them...
I never go the day of arrival, I go early the following morning, a few minutes before the office opens.
Usually less than ten minutes wait time.
My experience for the last five Compostelas.
