I have read a few threads and had some conversations recently where people walking routes off the French Way for the first time were genuinely surprised that you can't get breakfast, second breakfast, lunch (and presumably afternoon tea with scones and crumpets) and frequent ice cold water top-ups on other caminos.

So I thought I had better spell out for everybody's safety and comfort that the French Way is an all-day buffet compared with many other routes in Spain, where you can assume that you have to bring all your water, lunch and snacks EVERY DAY.

Here is a little vignette from the visitors' book at the public albergue in Mérida, Via de la Plata.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
And that was on (very populated) de la Plata. I can't imagine what those folks would do on Levante at three weeks between 40-48C :D
@gracethepilgrim has currently that temps...
4 litres of water with hydration salts, dates, a sun umbrella and lots of faith that there may be a little breeze to help me along. Oh, and a massive sense of fun! :):):);)

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Merry: "I don't think he knows about Second Breakfast."

Pippin: "What about Elevenses? Lunch? Dinner? Supper?"

One excellent way to describe it, all! :D
Spot-on! Thank you ---
Exactly what came to mind (that precise dialogue. Thanks Mister Tolkien :cool:)

Not to mention the comfort stops for those who abhor the bushes . . . .
