Best moment to buy bus/train tickets

Hi All,

I am going to make the camino next July (15 to 22) from Sarria to Compostella. I will be the last 113 KM.
I have all the accommodation booked but I still need to book the train Madrid to Leon and Then Bus/train from Leon to Sarria.

So I am wondering if I should buy this tickets in advance or it is Ok to buy on the day of the trip. Please let any info about this is very much appreciated.

You can buy just prior to boarding.

However, sometimes there are lineups (even while the automated ticket machines go unused). Sometimes the trains are full (and this is particularly true at holidays). Sometimes tickets can be had for a lower price if purchased in advance.

I don't know if you want to break your trip in Leon for some special reason but, just in case it could be useful, be aware there are direct trains from Madrid to Sarria. If taking one of the direct trains from Madrid to Sarria, I would suggest to book them in advance (specially the daytime one).
