El Niño weather in Spain?

Time of past OR future Camino

I'm a week out and in the throes of thinking about what clothes to bring, or not.
It's a massive El Niño year in the Pacific. Does this have any predictable unusual effect in Spain? Warmer, wetter, colder, drier?
(For what it's worth--maybe not much--the long range forecast for the next several weeks looks pretty gray, alas. One day maybe I'll see sun in Santiago, but probably not this time.)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I think el Nino is weakening considerably as we type this....in fact they are starting to predict la Nina by fall. Generally speaking, el Nino causes wetter, milder weather in Northern Spain. However, there are other forces that have as big - if not bigger effect - on Spain's weather. Being just a week out - you can check out the Accuweather long term forecast and get a pretty good idea (although they've been known to wrong too).

The weather will be what the weather wants to be. As much as we all want to know (I'm playing this game too being only a week and half away from leaving (just walking the last 200km), it's near impossible to figure out especially this time of year.

Which camino are you walking Viranani?
Three days at end of the Ruta de Lana (only from Santo Doming de Silos, with a detour to visit Santa Maria de Lara), then onto the Frances, Domigee. At this point it feels like a dream...I think reality will finally set in once I get on the plane to Madrid!
