Hey everyone, how are the conditions in Galicia right now, is it cold enough to bring a sleeping bag? Is it raining alot? Thanks for the help, buen camino

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Welcome, Connor! Definitely bring a sleeping bag, but the question is...how heavy? I used an 'indoor weight' bag, good for a low of 15C, last September and October and it was fine. Not sure if that is sufficient in November and December. If the heat is on, it would be just right.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

Probably cold and wet. The forecast did not sound good. When we walked one year in May it snowed but we were nice and warm as wore a high neck fleece, hat and gloves. On the way we bought umbrellas and they were fantastic. Kept rain and snow off of us. Also you might like to look at Kerrygolds post yest or tie. re heating and hot water in albergues if you are staying in them. Best wishes Annette

Two ladies are both in there last weeks both have reported heavy rain & very cold. Yes at this moment a 20 deg bag would be wise. Or at least a 0 bag. One said they turned the heat off & they froze. The other had stopped at Acebeo after staying at Foncebeone not far but cold walk in the rain. Those last two areas are high Cruz de Ferro & Ocebrio. Maybe they will see this post when they wake up.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
@Connor it is heading into winter. Serious cold could hit any day. Be prepared. Albergues may not be open and if they are they may not be heated. Make sure you have good clothing, including waterproof gloves.

Today and tomorrow beautiful clear skies and very warm temperatures!
I walked in mid-December in 2010 from Sarria, and had splendid weather and no trouble staying warm. But I was LUCKY. It is def. sleeping bag weather all over Spain, as once the sun goes down, the temperature makes a big drop.

A selection of Camino Jewellery
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

The Xunta albergues are open all year, see also http://www.aprinca.com/alberguesinvierno/, but level of heating does vary, so yes, bring a sleeping bag and Buen Camino! SY
