Hi, I have booked into Albergue de Santa Luzia n May 2025. I would like to know if anyone aware of the timetable for the Elevador's operating hours, especially the last ride up. Also, if there are eating places nearby, for dinner, without having to travel down to the city center for a meal. Is it better to use the kitchen facilities? Thanks in advance! Susan.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I just stayed there a few weeks ago. I arrived about 2:30PM. There was a funicular when I got there. There was one going up. I am not sure what time the last one runs in tourist season but I got there on a Saturday and if memory serves me correctly the last one down was either 5 or 6. On Sunday it opened at 10 so I had to walk down. It is a long way down.
Here is the website for the monastery and hostel
I saw a snack bar when I was there but I have no idea what they serve and I am sure they close early. It is on the grounds to the right of the cathedral.
The hostel has a full kitchen. I brought food and cooked. It is a wonderful place to stay and the monastery is beautiful and the views are fantastic especially the sunset.
It is a wonderful place to stay.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

It was closed for repairs when I was there in June this year.

We were (group of 4 Pilgrims) happy with the M&F Restaurant near the riverside park / Marina of Viana.

As we came back from the beach, we stopped at the Mr. Pizza next to the Albergue Sao Joao to get a slice on the evening. Cheap and tasty!
