Hey all!

I just finished my first camino!

658km from Madrid into French Way.

Its been a life changing experiencie that I cant wait to do again!

I documented everything on video and will do a little youtube documentary... Maybe u can help me a bit?

I wanna feature a few quick stories in there.. But this are just very early stages ideas..

How do you feel the camino experience changed u and what were the biggest challenges after you came back home?

Personally I think most people have good memories of their caminos and do maybe learn why they. walk and the happiness they get from walking. I believe that very few people actually really do change, whether or not they have walked a camino. They may have a different outlook on some things but change? I am sure a few do but the vast majority I don't think so. My opinion only of course.
But kuddos to you walking the Madrid as your first camino. I just walked it also and loved it. I think if you described the camino experience comparing the Madrid from other more popular caminos I doubt alot of pilgrims would want to do the Madrid. I think I would have been lost on the Madrid as my first camino. Now it is a piece of cake haha. I loved it and it looks like you did too. Was it a big shock going from the Madrid and peace and solitude to the relative crowds and higher people energy of the CF?
DId you sleep in Los Huertos? Loved this luxurious albergue where I had to find Ursula to get in! No sheets or pillowcases or wifi. (Lots of places without wifi) just a bed, microwave and small fridge. I was actually surprised there was a microwave.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Ursula is one mighty nice lady! When I stayed there she brought food for a peregrina who had sprained her ankle. On the Madrid you meet local folks who give of their time and energy to provide humble facilities for us to walk our camino. For me, this was one of the best things about the Madrid Way.

When I got there I asked two ladies about where Ursula was. One told me to sit on a bench and she would get her. Ursula came in uniform with her garbage can and broom and smile and took me to the albergue. She couldn't have been nicer.

So few people have walked the Madrid Way that a little doco on your personal experiences would be very interesting and informative to others. There are lots of videos on different Caminos - I have really enjoyed sharing the experiences of others particularly on routes less travelled.
As to your questions regarding the experiences of others - you will find a number of posts on these topics, already on the forum.
One of my happy places post Caminonnis browsing the forum. 🚶 ☺️ ❤️

I’m taking two friends on their first Frances in September. We are “older” ladies and would prefer not to have top bunks. Ideally, I’d like to reserve three of the pods, but I know that you can’t...
I haven't been paying attention on the forum to discussions about when Orisson starts accepting reservations. But I just booked for May 18, so it's obviously open for reservations.
