Hi all, well my plans are starting to get there.
After a couple of days in Granada, Cordoba and Seville, I am hoping to leave Seville 3rd March. I know the weather can be iffy.
What concerns me if I keep to my schedule, is I land in Santiago smack bang Easter Sunday.
The holiest city on the holiest day!
Is this madness?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

Maybe. If you want a bed.

Perhaps once you are about 3 weeks out from Santiago you would know when you are likely to arrive and could book a bed?

Book Hostal Forest on BCom NOW. It’s a nice old hostal very close to the Cathedral. I’ve stayed there twice.

Indeed. I book lots of different dates with cancellation policies. So I am holding three different nights (as single night bookings) in Seville in April to start the VDLP. I will cancel 2 of the 3 in line with the cancellation policy.

Santiago isn’t the ‘holiest city’

It’ll be great. It may be a little cool sleeping outside, but you’ll be fine.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Holy Week is one of the most amazing times to be walking a Camino in Spain - once you have your timeline set, I would try to stay at least one night in larger city to experience one of the larger processions...we were able to book an airbnb (that was very reasonably priced) that was right on the procession route in Leon and we watched it from our balcony - amazing! You might not get much sleep, but wow it is worth it. In a smaller town we got invited for a private tour of the floats and the lady showed us some that were very old and told us the history of many of them - just priceless experiences!
