Hello to All - getting from Porto to Santiago

Time of past OR future Camino
2021
I want to book a trip to Porto in December. However after arriving in Porto, I want to go to Santiago being that Porto is the closest option to make the trip. I have tried to book a train but any date I enter it says, no results. So therefore how would I book a train, with a travel agent ?

You are pushing the boundaries of the feasible. There are no trains from Porto to Santiago. You’ll need a train to Vigo and to change trains and train stations there as I recall. Tickets for December on either countries national rail networks will probably not be available until November.
It’s likely that the ALSA bus will offer a simpler journey but they’ll not offer bookable tickets yet either.

You’ll get an idea of availability by searching for services this month on the corresponding day of your intended travel.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

you can book on Renfe. Just need to book Porto-Vigo and Vigo-Santiago. That’s because Renfe is run by the Spanish govt.
You may need to change train stations in Vigo - but they are close - 10 min cab or Uber. I prefer train travel to buses.

I also prefer train travel to buses, but for Santiago to Porto I chose the bus because it was faster without having to make any changes.
