Camino: Sarria to Santiago
Hello.
We are 2 people (first timers) who are hoping to begin our Camino from Sarria on Satruday 15th June. However I have been told that if you use the postal service to transfer bags from A to B, this must be completed by 8pm. Looking at buses from SdeC to get to Sarria, we wouldn't arrive until after this time as our flight is due to land at 5pm.
Would anyone have knowledge on how we could go about this?

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Have you booked your accommodation in Sarria for Saturday night ?
If your flight has wheels down at 5pm Saturday, in Santiago ; I’d be more comfortable staying in Santiago that night close to the station (train and bus )… and catching transport to Sarria on Sunday … Your problem will disappear then.

Are you asking about daily bag transport?
8 pm is the time that you need to notify them where to pick up your bags the next morning. So if you have a reservation in Sarria that is serviced by the bag transport company you simply notify them to pick them up there.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.

This time I successfully had my rucksack transported by NCS again. I sent a Whatapp with the necessary information in the afternoon (21h at the latest), which was all confirmed, and left the rucksack in the morning at 0800h at the latest, usually at the check-in. From Sarria there are up to 6 different companies (in addition to Caminofacil and Correo) that transport from Sarria for 4€/piece of luggage (max 15kg/28km) on a day-to-day basis

Thank you. Yes this is what I was wondering about.

Thank you for your help.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Wherever you stay in Sarria will have envelopes that you fill out, put the money inside, and attach to the bag. The hostel or hotel will have all the information for you, don’t worry! Your bag must be in the lobby by 8:00 in the morning. I was worried about this last year, but it is very easy. I put an AirTag in my bag, and this was helpful for the one time JacoTrans failed to transfer my bag. Buen Camino!

Hi Sinead.
I have just looked up buses to go from the airport to Lugo, and then another bus from there to Sarria. The cost of a taxi seemed quite expensive as there is only 2 of us.
There is a bus leaving the airport at 6:45pm to Lugo, get there at 8pm. Then a bus at 8:30pm from Lugo to Sarria which arrives there at 9:05pm.

I have come across a post on this forum to say that they used 'BlaBlaCar' to share a taxi ride with others to Sarria.
