Camino Frances App

Hi All
I've been away for a number of years. My last pilgrimage in Spain was the Via Del La Plata and I used an app on my phone. My question is, has one been developed for the Frances?

Yes i used the Wise Pilgrim app on my Frances this year easy to use and lots of info!
Buen Camino app is also good and used by many!

There are quite a number. Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino, mentioned by woody66 above, are probably the most popular. Camino Ninja is one that has many ardent supporters. It had disappeared from the app stores for a while after the person behind it sadly passed away (while on the Camino) but it is back. I'm not sure how often the information on this app is being updated. Gronze.com has come out with their own app. And there are many others. On my 2016 Camino Frances, I liked the Camino Pilgrim app.

Aside from those, many people find value in having the AlertCops app on their phone, or the Camino Forum app, or more general trail apps (like Organic Maps, Windy Maps, or Wikiloc).

I carry all of the above on my phone when on Camino.

I use the Wisepilgrim apps for different caminos. I also Have AlertCops for safety/security.

Wisepilgrim app for CF cost ca. 5€ ithink. Insignificant compared to its value for pilgrims
AlertCops is a free, public app for alerting emergency authorities. Very good concept.

I use both Buen Camino and Wise Pilgrim on the Frances. I like to have 2 apps because sometimes there are alternative routes on one but not the other. When I come to an intersection, if there are arrows pointing in two different directions, I check both.

Any app about the Frances will be way more detailed and accurate than one for the VdlP.

Note: I also love gronze.com for planning itineraries.

Thanks for the replies guys, looks like Wise pilgrim is the popular one all round.
I did the Frances back in 2017 and an app wasn't available then and you're right Damien about the VDLP app it wasn't all that detailed.

Another advantage of using his app, is that @wisepilgrim is a member of this forum of distinguished "repeat offender " pilgrims, meaning he will often chime in to relevant threads in here with explanations/info, and you are able also to PM him directly: A new level of support IMHO .

As an old computer engineer, I valuable the SW (app) from a professional point of view, as well as having a possible direct link to the app owner in case of confusion (which, at my age, may occur sooner than I like...).

Edit: Other benefits, is that I do not need a browser; and I don't need a translation service, in order to "get" the information of the app. It is all on my phone, in plain English, and it also works offline. No wifi rquired. And it is automatically updated.

This may sound like a sales stunt, but I really appreciate this app.

I used Forwalk. It is a great tool with maps, information about the different stages and a list of accommodation along the Way. It will tell you how far off the Camino an accommodation is. I've also used ForWalk, but it's not an app like Wise Pilgrim and Buen Camino which both have live gps maps that you can use offline.
