A very interesting article on Father Mícheál Mac Gréil who restarted this pilgrimage. Sounds like a man who practiced rather than just preached.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.

It’s nice walking there, can be approached from either the Maam or Recess side. A bit of midge repellant might be needed in summer!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

Kind of parallel thread: another priest (for a time).

The late John O'Donohue recorded in conversation with John Quinn as they walk together on Mám Éan.

It is in the posthumous collection Walking on the Pastures of Wonder but also available (wonderfully) on an old podcast from RTE, recorded in 2000. (RTE is Irish national radio and TV.)

He talks about Míchéal McGréil in the talk.

The text is in the book. There is an American Version called Walking in Wonder also available for Kindle on Amazon.

Might try to take it in one weekend in the summer, along with Croagh Patrick..
Easily done, it’s not really a challenging walk. Can leave the car nearer or further away from the chapel depending on what suits

Yes I'll look into it, thanks! I've climbed Croagh Patrick already, but it was rushed.. I would have like to have taken more time. The real challenge would be to do both Mám Éan and Croagh Patrick in the same weekend..
