I am in Madrid and leave for SJPP Sept 1 and start walking on Sept 2. I was thinking it would be easy to find storage for my suitcase here. I plan to stay another month in Portugal after the Camino. I found a place but only allows 15 days. How feasible is it to show up in SJPP with a large suitcase and find a way to get it to Compestella? Or advice for Madrid. I’m thinking that it will take me 40 or so days to finish. Any advice much appreciated.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Perfect memento/gift in a presentation box. Engraving available, 25 character max.

It's very easy with Express Bourricot. You don't even have to lug it down to the post office. They will pick it up at your accommodation in the morning.

And you don't have the worries about mailing from another country.

The 2025 edition of the Lightfoot Guide to the via Podiensis is now available
I would recomendable sending it from Spain and not from France. I run this service:

Correos also has a similar service.
I would like to send to you, Ivar. I listened to your video, which was VERY helpful. I’ll go to store and get cling wrap and send from Correros and will not use pilgrim rate. Or if I can find a DHL. It’s a rather large suitcase so I hope that is O.K. This will give me the peace of mind to walk the Camino at my pace.

You'll have to mail it while you are in Madrid.

It is better to contact Ivar directly at the email given on the Casa Ivar webpage. He doesn't necessarily see every post here on the forum.

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

€46,-

I used "stow your bag" service in Madrid. It is by the Atocha Train Station close to the Prado museum and park.

Buen Camino.

Sounds good. These other services are also good. Whatever you do you will be fine. Buen camino!

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
I used Ivar’s service, and it was super. His warehouse is close to the cathedral. I will definitely do it, again! I would also suggest shipping from Spain. I used French postal service, and it was very expensive.

I used DHL and it was only 37 Euros from Madrid. I thought that wS a great price.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
The often recommended Express Bourricot from SJPDP to Santiago is €70; so that wasn’t excessive for that route.
But Express Bouricot's price also includes storage for an unlimited time, so it comes out cheaper. Plus their service is so easy to use. Just go to their office, fill out a form and pay, get a tag to put on your suitcase then leave it at your accommodation in the morning.
