I agree but most of them were badly abused. The newer ones were designed to be more graffiti resistant. But, as you know, most of the brass distance plates have been stolen from the new ones. I will never understand why someone must write their name and other messages on them. It shows no respect for the Camino.
I can't tell you exactly where this was because it was taken a long time ago. I just remember that it was on a trail and not in a village.
