@Saint Mike II - There was so so much mud and flooding this year that it often made more sense to walk on the road if there was one close to the trail. Some parts of the trail were under water.

Even my "waterproof" boots got soaked. I wrote to the manufacturer and they told me that they were under warranty and it looks like they are going to replace them for me.

It will was still fun but definitely a different Camino for me this year. Will I do it again next year? You can bet my new waterproof boots that I will.

@Saint Mike II - Frances route. I believe that this was on the way to Astorga. Aptil/May - rain, hail, flooding and mud. It was a blast.

The trail to Molinseca from Acebo was not usable the day I was there. Everyone took the road. Fortunately traffic was very light.

Who knows what next year will be like? But it doesn't matter, I'll be there.

@ELHS220 - There were worse days but hard to photograph in the rain. But even a wet and muddy day is still a good day on the Camino. It was just another element to this incredible adventure.

I hear that. The best thing about the Camino is that the conditions every year seems to be different. What was muddy one year was warm and dry the next. Every day always felt new.

I'm pretending that 2020 never happened and look forward to getting back on the Camino next year.

Buen Camino
