The Antoniter Monks specialized in the cure for Ergotism, one of the worst diseases after the plague and leprosy. Caused by eating moldy rye, you would hallucinate, and then your arms and legs would turn black and fall off. They discovered a cure and made a good income from treating wealthy patients.

.... and interestingly enough - it's also called St.Anthony's Fire . (wondering if it's related?) And not sure if it can be called a 'disease' as it was a poisoning by ingesting that fungus grown on a grain. and in proper dosages, apparently also used as a healing-remedy. either way, as for all poisoning, ghastly business. thanks for connecting the dots, did not realise that perhaps that place has a connection to St.Anthony'sFire. saluti, C
