I have done a winter camino already from SJPP to SDC. Planning on going again this January. But now thinking of a winter camino from Seville on VDP. Anyone here done this in winter, what was it like accommodation, weather and amount of pilgrims on route.

Very light, comfortable and compressible poncho. Specially designed for protection against water for any activity.

Our Atmospheric H30 poncho offers lightness and waterproofness. Easily compressible and made with our Waterproof fabric, its heat-sealed interior seams guarantee its waterproofness. Includes carrying bag.

I'm following this post, Tony!

I have walked the VdlP twice in winter (January and February). Stages are often a bit longer than you would find on the Frances. There are enough albergues and hostals open even in winter if you can walk stages of 30km or more at times. Unlike the Frances there are few places with multiple albergues to choose from. Weather is very variable - I have walked in a t-shirt and been sunburned, and I have also walked through blizzard snow in sub-zero temperatures. And occasionally in heavy rain. You really need to be prepared for unpleasant weather by carrying waterproof outer clothing and a full change of cold weather clothing. And where the stages are long there may be no water or food available until your night stop. Err on the cautious side and carry as much water as you think you will need for the whole day on those stages.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
